Breast Friends was organized in 2006 as a team of individuals donating time and effort in fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day. In 2007 we changed our name to Lori’s Breast Friends in memory of our team's founder, Lori Dragonetti. We continued with our same mission and dedicated countless hours over the following four years, raising more than $100,000 for the Boston Breast Cancer 3-Day. With our commitment to finding a cure and our growth in mind, we applied to become a registered 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization in the 2010-2011 fundraising season.
We are a small, registered 501(c)(3) charity with very little overhead; that means we are able to donate nearly all of our net fundraising to the fight against cancer. Our mission statement is simple: Our mission is to raise funds in support of finding a cure for cancer through donations to cancer-related, registered charities supporting programming and research decided upon by the Board. Our primary beneficiaries are Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, Avon 39: Walk to End Breast Cancer, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Since 2006, Lori’s Breast Friends has donated more than $263,000 to these charities!
